Class Attendance Policy

Improv Niagara values the punctuality and attendance of our students, as regular attendance ensures learning and understanding the concepts of improv and advancing through the instruction at the same rate as one’s classmates.

As such, we have established the following attendance policy to ensure that all students are aware of our expectations and to provide guidelines for managing absences and tardiness.

  1. Students will be made aware of their class’s timings upon registering for class.
  2. Students are expected to arrive at class on time.
  3. Tardiness is defined as being more than 15 minutes late to class without prior notification.
  4. If a student is unable to come to class, they must notify their instructor no later than 2 hours before that day’s class.
  5. Any unplanned absences or tardiness will be recorded and may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from class.
  6. Planned absences should be reported to the instructor.
  7. If a student is absent from class for more than 3 classes out of their 8-class term, that student will not advance to the following level.
  8. This attendance policy may be revised or updated at any time at the discretion of ownership.
