Improv Niagara is an award-winning improv comedy theatre company based in the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada. We perform improv comedy shows and hold communities of practice for all those interested in “yes and” in this incredible region of the country.
Improv Niagara has performed in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Thorold & Welland, and even Buffalo, NY! We perform at our home, Mahtay Café, the last Saturday of every month. We’ve been featured at the In the Soil Arts Festival, the Big City Improv Festival in Toronto and the River Arts Festival in Dunnville.
What We Stand For
At Improv Niagara, we share dedication to the craft of improv, laughter and the joy of comedy.
Our Vision
To improve our improv, together.
Code of Conduct
Improvise together as a team. The team applies to the greater improv community and transcends groups, companies and shows.
Treat our producers, tech support, hosts and audience with respect and help welcome them into the larger improv community.
Respect the other acts when they are on stage, by not talking at the back, or distracting from the show in any way.
Support and listen to each other, on stage and off stage.
Yes And your scene partner, unless it is unsafe or demeaning to do so.
Collaborate with, rather than compete with, your fellow improvisers.
Respect physical boundaries and don’t do anything physically dangerous to yourself or your scene partner.
Respect sexual boundaries, on and off stage.
Improvise from a place of fun, love, kindness and respect for your fellow improvisers and audience.
Safety first. If you feel unsafe in a scene, stop it at any time. You have our support.
Help us to create an environment free from harassment of any kind. (See our Anti-Harassment & Anti-Discrimination Policy.)
Please no drug use or excessive drinking before performing.
